Product Overview
Super 13Cr (also known as 13-5-2) is a low-carbon martensitic stainless steel specifically engineered for the oil and gas industry. By enhancing the standard 13% Chromium base with Nickel and Molybdenum, this material provides significantly improved resistance to pitting and stress corrosion cracking in environments containing high chlorides, CO2, and mild H2S concentrations.

Key Features & Performance
- Enhanced Corrosion Resistance: Specifically designed for wells where standard 13Cr is insufficient due to high temperatures or H2S partial pressure.
- High Strength: Supplied in 95ksi and 110ksi strength classes to support deep-well operations.
- Low Carbon Content: Critical for maintaining weldability and preventing carbide precipitation during processing.
Applications
1. Oil and Gas Extraction
- Acidic Well Casings/Tubing: Suitable for wells with H2S partial pressure of 0.07~1.5MPa and CO2 partial pressure ≥1MPa. Ideal for depths of 2000 to 5000 meters and temperatures up to 150℃.
- Offshore Equipment: Used in Christmas tree connecting pipes and downhole safety valves to resist seawater mist and high-chloride formation water.
- Injection Systems: Gas lift and water injection pipes requiring resistance to pitting in high Cl- + CO2 environments.
2. Gathering and Processing Systems
- Transportation Pipelines: Gathering lines from wellheads to processing plants, particularly in low-lying sections prone to crevice corrosion.
- Refinery Pipelines: Sulfur-containing sewage pipes and low-pressure feed pipes for hydrogenation units (up to 200℃).
3. Industrial & Geothermal Scenarios
- Seawater Desalination: High-pressure water supply pipes and reverse osmosis systems where 316L strength is insufficient.
- Chemical Processing: Conveying pipes for chlorine-containing media like sodium hypochlorite.
- Geothermal Wells: Production pipes for high-temperature (120~180℃) geothermal water with high mineral content.
